This role is a technical position within the Zimmermann design team supporting the Textile Print and Surface Design team deliver bulk artwork across both Ready to Wear and Swim & Resort product lines. The Textile and Print Technician is responsible for technical preparations of artwork from sampling to bulk in line with the Zimmermann brand aesthetic. Key areas of responsibilities will include: Create technical repeats and color separations as required. Pattern set up and marker set up between photoshop and illustrator for placement artworks. Complete placement print, embroidery and laser cut artwork and instructions for samples and production. Work collaboratively with pattern makers to finalise placement artwork at each stage of development. Consider the most economical method to set up artworks per style eg: placement, nested, borders etc. Provide strike off comments via a visual aid on artwork generated for feedback to printers and embroiderers. Complete final bulk artworks for production purposes working with pattern makers to achieve most efficient yields. Grade artworks for placement styles across full size range or complete bulk nested artwork where applicable. Ensure cutting instructions are kept up-to-date with any changes to artwork between SMS, PPS and Bulk. Cross-checking artwork before bulk printing: placements and yardages. What you will bring to the role: Tertiary qualifications in Textile and/or Fashion design. Previous experience in a similar technical position. The ability to demonstrate outstanding creative instincts and a distinct point of view through colour, texture and patterns. Have strong design and communicative skills. Advanced Photoshop, Illustrator & InDesign skills. Strong attention to detail. Knowledge of current design trends, industry developments and new textile processes. Why work with us?
