Theatre Communications Coordinator – The Wedge News, Industry Employment Position No. 705 Temporary Part-Time (0.8FTE) (until 23 January 2026) Band 5 – $59,889 – $68,473 (pro rata) yearly, plus 11.5% statutory superannuation If you have a passion for performing arts and enjoy working alongside a high-energy team, then we have the opportunity for you! Join our vibrant Arts & Culture team as the Coordinator Theatre Communications at The Wedge Performing Arts Centre in a temporary part-time (0.8FTE) capacity. Located in Sale, Victoria, The Wedge is an award-winning contemporary cultural hub for performing arts and entertainment, featuring a 390-seat theatre, 50-seat black box studio, café, dining facilities, and rehearsal rooms. The Centre presents over 150 diverse events each year, attracting more than 50,000 attendees annually. Reporting to the Performing Arts Director, the Coordinator Theatre Communications is responsible for coordinating marketing, social media, and managing client relationship initiatives for The Wedge Performing Arts Centre. We are seeking a social media marketing professional to manage The Wedge’s social media channels, including Facebook and Instagram. Your ability to create digital content, social media posts, and visual media is a key element to your success in this role. You will have a natural ability to build strong relationships, liaising with sponsors and seeking out new partnership opportunities, as well as working directly with artists and their teams to support their tours. You will be a team player who takes initiative and proactively seeks opportunities to deliver exceptional service. Additionally, you will possess highly developed interpersonal and communication skills, be customer-focused, professionally presented, and thrive in a creative atmosphere. If you are tech-savvy, enjoy promoting events and building relationships, can work weekends/evenings, and are passionate about the performing arts industry, we want to hear from you! The successful candidate will need to demonstrate how they meet the criteria below: Tertiary qualification in marketing or similar (desirable) or experience working in a performing arts venue or an arts organization. Ability to communicate clearly with patrons, clients, sponsors, and other industry stakeholders. Demonstrated ability to prepare media releases and other marketing documentation. Experience using various software packages, including Microsoft Office, publishing, email campaign management, web page and customer management, and graphic design software. Ability to plan workloads and determine priorities. Please note, given the nature of the theatre industry, your availability to work on occasional weekends and evenings will be paramount.
