You will work in partnership with the Director of Nursing to: Provide strategic and operational leadership, governance, and direction for the Cremorne Private Day Surgery services and to monitor and evaluate clinical practice and service delivery standards. Attain and maintain accreditation and regulatory compliance of the day surgery’s facilities and for risk management in audits and Quality Management. Build effective partnering relationships with our Clinicians and Anaesthetics. Lead and manage the Day Surgery team and create a thriving workplace culture. Coordinate and support the journey of day surgery patients and manage a patient load. Are you the ideal candidate for us? Our Day Surgery Team Leader will be sensitive to the needs of patients and team members and will support their wellbeing through timely and considered communication. Ideally, you will bring the following: Experience in a position equivalent to, or more senior than, nursing unit manager in a private health facility or a public hospital. A track record of managing a Day Surgery Unit, Hospital Ward or Surgical Theatres (minimum 3 years). Demonstrated high level of Perioperative clinical knowledge and skills. Experience with accreditation audits (Knowledge and previous experience with NSQHS and Hospital Accreditation processes). Contemporary and broad knowledge of the Victorian healthcare sector. Knowledge of healthcare quality systems, accreditation processes and regulation. Application of clinical knowledge and skilled at providing primary nursing care to patients. Ability to write monthly reports and provide accurate analysis and rationale. Competency to lead, manage, develop and mentor staff. A track record of building high performance and engaged teams. Ability to work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams. Strong emotional intelligence and ability to build relationships. Ability to have difficult conversations with respect, integrity and open disclosure. Highly organised with excellent time management and attention to detail. A strong track record of delivering process and efficiency improvements. Well-developed communication and interpersonal skills. Competent user of Microsoft Office Skills.
