Location: Karratha Unit/Division: Pilbara -> Karratha Health Campus Work Type: Fixed Term - Full Time, Permanent - Full Time A great opportunity exists for a suitably experienced and motivated Cook to join the WA Country Health Service (WACHS) in Karratha! This is a Permanent Full Time appointment, or Fixed Term Full Time with the possibility of extension(s) and/or permanency. About the Opportunity Karratha Health Campus are seeking a Trade Cook, experienced in commercial cookery, to prepare nutritious and palatable meals as per dietary and food safe guidelines. The role is responsible for ensuring the kitchen has an effective, efficient and patient-focused catering service. Area Profile The Pilbara is WA’s second most northern region, defined by the Indian Ocean to the west and the Northern Territory border to the east. The Kimberley Region lies to its north across the Great Sandy Desert and the Pilbara’s southern reaches border the Midwest and Goldfields regions. The region covers a total area of 507,896 sq km (including offshore islands). Most of the inhabitants are located in the western third, whereas the eastern third is largely desert with few inhabitants. Today, the Pilbara economy is crucial to the State, providing 2 of the State’s largest export revenue earners – iron ore and liquefied natural gas. To be eligible for appointment, applicants must have a valid working visa (for fixed term appointments) or be an Australian citizen, permanent resident, or have a visa to live and work indefinitely in Australia (for permanent appointments).
