We have an exciting opportunity to join our compliance team as a Trade Surveillance Analyst. Working closely with our trading and compliance team you will play a critical role in monitoring and analyzing trading activities to ensure compliance with market regulations. Key Responsibilities: Monitor Trading Activity : Continuously review equities transactions for potential market abuse, manipulation, or non-compliant behavior. Conduct Investigations : Analyze suspicious trades flagged by trade surveillance systems (Eventus), conduct further investigation as needed, and document findings. Clear all alerts by the end of trading day. Regulatory Compliance : Ensure trading activities align with regulatory requirements. Data Analysis & Reporting : Use advanced data analytics to identify patterns or trends in trading behavior and prepare reports for management, regulators, and other stakeholders. System Management : Configure, maintain, and optimize surveillance systems to enhance detection accuracy, staying current with technological advances and updates. Communication with Clients : Send queries to Clients to query trades and if necessary request further information to investigate alerts. Collaborate with Internal Teams : Work closely with Designated Trading Representatives, compliance team, to address and resolve compliance issues, provide guidance on best practices, and support the implementation of corrective actions. Documentation & Record-Keeping : Maintain detailed records of investigations, actions taken, and outcomes to ensure a clear audit trail. Training & Education : Provide training to relevant personnel on compliance issues and emerging risks, contributing to a culture of compliance and ethical trading practices. Ad-hoc Projects : Participate in regulatory audits, internal investigations, and special projects as assigned by the Compliance or Risk team. Key Skills and Qualifications: Education : Bachelor’s degree in finance, economics, law, or a related field is a plus. Experience : 2+ years of experience in trade surveillance, compliance, risk management, or a related field within financial services. Knowledge of Regulations : Strong understanding of ASIC Market Integrity Rules and Corporations Act on market misconduct rules. Understanding of Trading : Excellent knowledge of equities trading and behaviour patterns for trades. Technical Skills : Proficiency with trade surveillance systems (e.g., NICE Actimize, Smarts, Iress, Eventus/Validus) and knowledge of trading platforms. Trading experience a plus. Analytical Thinking : Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to identify and investigate suspicious trading patterns. Communication : Excellent written and verbal communication skills for preparing reports, conducting interviews, and liaising with regulatory authorities. Attention to Detail : Meticulous in identifying issues, recording information, and conducting follow-ups to ensure thoroughness.
