Who we are looking for As part of SSCM Global coverage/expansion, we are seeking to hire an experienced FX trader with at least 5 years of FX experience in order handling/execution. You will be joining a team of >35 employees who manage in excess of 100 clients with over 6000 active accounts and +USD330bn in hedged assets under management. The role will be based in Sydney, Australia. The role of the Currency Management Trader is to ensure that the trading strategy for client accounts is executed according to the mandate guidelines. This includes the full lifecycle of the trade: pre-trade, trade execution, and post-trade. The Trader serves as the main point of contact for all trade-related queries and commentary for both internal and external parties. What you will be responsible for As Trader / Portfolio Manager - Currency Management, VP you will: Manage the daily operations for the hedging strategy for assigned clients, ensuring completeness and accuracy of inbound data receipt, mandate compliance, and client reporting. Create orders, conduct pre-trade due diligence reviews, and execute trades. Exercise reasonable judgment in the management of the hedging program, recognizing possible errors in data, identifying operational risks, and escalating as required. Provide post-trade TCA, review counterparties, and provide feedback to both clients and counterparties on performance. Collaborate with global trading teams located in Boston and London. Contribute to client due diligence visits, monthly service reviews, new client pitches, and daily client queries. Manage counterparty diversification, maximum thresholds, operational risks, and TCA analysis. What we value These skills will help you succeed in this role: Strong communication skills and attention to detail. Able to work to strict time-critical deadlines while ensuring accuracy in order creation and execution. The ability to work independently and as part of a global team. Education & Preferred Qualifications At least 5 years of FX experience in order handling/execution. Experienced FX trader, ideally with a Swaps/Forwards background. Knowledge/use of BestX or similar for pre/post-trade TCA. Experience in using FX Connect/360T beneficial for order management/execution. A genuine passion for markets, trading, and FX. The ability to communicate with clients by providing market updates regarding events and liquidity. Are you the right candidate? Yes!
