We have been awarded a contract to deliver for Western Australia’s $1.6 billion Railcar Program. As part of the project, we will design, manufacture and maintain 246 new railcars needed for METRONET projects and the replacement of the A-series trains. We will also deliver 6 DMU railcars to replace the Australind service between Perth and Bunbury. We are currently seeking a Train Manager for our Train level validation activities. This role will work closely with the Train Validation Engineer & Test Manager and will ensure adequate train preparation and availability to run during tests and also proper EHS management during Train testing. You will manage the execution of a comprehensive range of Integration/Tuning and Certification/Validation tests of our manufactured trains. Key Responsibilities include: Represent the Project Testing and Commissioning Manager onboard the train, during validations and certification tests, and dynamic serial commissioning tests. Preparing the test implementation (staffing, availability of tools, measurement devices, and onboard spare parts, etc.) together with the Test Manager. Checking the ability of the train and its environment to complete the test. Use the unique interlocutor of Test Manager nominated by the Testing Body (the tests campaign in charge). Responsible for operationally coordinating with all the onboard actors. Ensure the safety of ALL people attending the tests. Responsible for the distribution and the application of the safety rules defined for conducting tests and manages the applicable prevention plan. Managing the First Aid Box and alert channels in case of an accident. Ensure that the test trainset's configuration is properly managed and the latest trainset status is known, especially regarding modifications performed by the Validation team, sub-suppliers, or maintenance team. Determine if the trainset is in a safe condition and has the right to stop the tests if it is unsafe. Carry out the tests and supports the Tests Manager in producing failure reports and test book (test events chronology). Support various Alstom teams and the Test Manager regarding test organisation and implementation when the trainset is not in dynamic tests. Qualifications, Skills, and Experience required include: Qualification in Engineering (or equivalent). Extensive experience in Testing or Certification/Validation. Coordination skills and ability to make decisions. Structured and organized approach to the job. Preferred technical experience in rolling stock, system integration, validation, testing, and commissioning. Skills in building internal and external networks.
