Trainee or Experienced OTR Tyre Repairer | Global Brand | Learn while you Earn Posted Wednesday 5 March 2025 at 5:00 am Reports to: Branch Service Manager / Production Manager / Workshop Manager / Supervisor Tyre Repair Manages: Nil Location: Nominated Purpose: The Trainee Tyre Repairer is to learn the skills and gain experience in the field of OTR tyre repairing. The Trainee Tyre Repairer will learn and gain experience by performing duties at all times with a fully qualified OTR Repairer to safely service BMSA and its customer’s tyre repair needs in accordance with industry best practice and compliant service standard and safety protocols of BMSA and its customers. The Trainee Tyre Repairer will learn to identify the extent of damage, repair as per the BMSA repair guidelines and AS4457-2. Primary Accountabilities: Ensure adherence to company directions and processes including, but not limited to, the areas of health and safety; disaster prevention; financial and business operations. Adhere to the HSEQ obligations as defined for the role – follow all safety procedure requirements. Adhere to Supervisor’s directions as well as Branch, Regional, Production and Executive managers. Work together with and provide support to other tyre repairers in the branch. Learn to complete repair risk assessments to the requirements of BMSA repair procedures and the Australian Standard for OTR tyre repair. Learn to identify tyres as required by the BMSA repair procedures and the Australian Standard for OTR repair. Under direct supervision learn how to undertake and complete all tasks associated with repair preparation ensuring all BMSA requirements are met. Observe the conducting of repair ability assessments to accurately determine the best suited repair methods with objectives of product safety, performance and durability. Under direct supervision learn how to complete the requirements of repair vulcanisation process, ensuring all quality control, monitoring and measurement is documented and ensuring that Australian standards are met. Under direct supervision prepare and install all repair materials as required according to BMSA repair policies and procedures. Always ensure personal workmanship meets or exceeds BMSA’s quality control requirements by inspecting the tyres following each repair process. Inform management of repair material and product stock requirements in a timely manner to avoid delays occurring. Achieve productivity objectives set by management. Participate in and complete all aspects of repair training by BMSA or external providers. Participate in site and BMSA branch, section toolbox talks or other risk assessments when required. Ensure you present yourself at work in a state that complies with Fatigue, Drug and Alcohol Safety Management Policies and Guidelines. Any request by senior management. Key Performance Measures: Repair tyres to Bridgestone and customer standards. Adhere to all HSEQ obligations to site and Bridgestone standards. Repair tyres to customer operational time restraints. Ensure all licence and certification requirements are met. Key Internal Relationships: Branch Service Manager Production Manager Regional Executive Manager Key External Relationships: Operational Mining Management Person Specification: Commercial Attributes: In the process of undergoing the relevant training qualifications. In the process of obtaining a High Risk Work Licence – LF (CV if required). Fit and able to carry out manual labour to fulfil the requirements of the position. A valid driver’s licence in accordance with the statutory requirements applicable for the class(es) of vehicle the performance of the role requires. Personal Attributes: Service focused.
