Trainer, Health Safety and Training Team Metro Mining Limited is an Australian exploration and mining company based in Brisbane. Metro’s flagship project, the Bauxite Hills Mine, located 95km north of Weipa is one of the largest independent projects within the internationally acclaimed Weipa Bauxite Region. Metro Mining is looking for an experienced Training Advisor on the project, to provide technical expertise, advice and coaching in all matters relating to health, training & safety that will positively impact the culture of the site. With plenty of time working on remote sites, you enjoy the challenges and the variety. About the Role The Training Advisor will work with the Health, Safety and Training Team to assist with the development and implementation of training packages, coordinate all site training initiatives, maintain training and competency records, and assist with inductions. As it is a remote site, you will need a solid grasp of the challenges presented by distance and be able to maintain effective procedures for the health and safety of all employees. You will provide training and VOC pass out on light vehicles, Articulated Haul Trucks, Multi Combination trailer trucks fleet, Loaders, Water Carts, Service Trucks, Excavators and Graders, and other equipment. You will be responsible for managing the training records and the safety database to manage competency-based safety training packages. Your experience will be key to supporting the required technical and regulatory needs to support safe operations at the Bauxite Hills Mine. You will work with a small team internally and maintain trusted relationships with our internal and external stakeholders, including Indigenous and Traditional Owner communities to support the ongoing partnerships with Metro Mining. The role is varied, fast-paced, and requires a person who can manage multiple tasks whilst keeping a positive attitude. About You As an influential Training Advisor, you quickly develop strong working relationships operating with a high degree of trust and transparency. You are skilled in navigating complex, multi-stakeholder environments and are known for approaching issues and opportunities with a collaborative and solutions-focused attitude. To be successful, you will have qualifications and experience training mobile plant operators. You will be flexible and delivery-oriented together with a high level of integrity and trust. Embedding proactive training coupled with rigorous appreciation of lessons learned from any incident investigations.
