About the role The Transmission Senior Design Engineer is responsible for providing highly technical and commercially worthy Engineering or Specialist design solutions as well as leadership across the section for the effective delivery of respective design deliverables across transmission and distribution; to determine, develop and effectively implement valuable strategies, tools or processes for efficient and accurate designs; continually improve standards / designs to drive long-term value for our customers and shareholders; and provide critical thought leadership including liaising with different stakeholders, suppliers and consultants to identify design best practices, Safety in design expertise, training and quality assurance. Key accountabilities Drive safety performance improvements by modeling WHS commitment, incorporating safety in design deliverables, and peer-reviewing design services to ensure compliance with standards, regulations, and policies. Lead by example through staff development, mentoring, vision-setting, and fostering a motivated, inclusive team culture that promotes effectiveness, innovation, and healthy conflict. Provide technical expertise across design deliverables, conduct investigations and feasibility studies, and ensure accurate modelling, calculations, and derivations. Prepare technical briefs, specifications, tenders, and procurement documents while monitoring the delivery of materials and equipment; liaise with industry stakeholders to adopt design best practices. Identify and implement improvements in base designs and standards to enhance efficiency and long-term value, while exceeding customer expectations through responsive and proactive stakeholder support. Minimum qualifications Engineering Bachelor or Masters Degree with major in Electrical. Licences / tickets C Vehicle licence up to 4.5 tonnes gross vehicle mass (GVM).
