The Customer and Network team manages temporary and permanent changes to rail and transport networks to enable Cross River Rail delivery. This involves coordinating construction access while minimising commuter impacts and maintaining acceptable accessibility and service levels during construction. The Transport Network Changes Advisor ensures customer-facing network changes are successfully managed, focusing on closing and opening upgraded and new stations. This role requires extensive engagement with stakeholders like the Department of Transport and Main Roads, Brisbane City Council, Queensland Rail, and technical advisors. You will support collaboration, decision-making, and deliverables such as bus service changes, rail timetables, traffic permits, and customer communications. It will be a catalyst for 10 years of wider rail transformation across the whole of South East Queensland and it is already playing a key role in how we prepare for the 2032 Olympic and Paralympic Games. Cross River Rail is a new 10.2km rail line including 5.9km of twin tunnels running under the Brisbane River and CBD. It includes the delivery of four new underground stations, two new above-ground stations, accessibility rebuilds for six stations, the construction of three new stations on the Gold Coast, and the introduction of a new world-class ‘ETCS' signalling system. About the Role The Customer and Network team coordinate temporary and permanent changes to rail and transport networks and customer environment so that Cross River Rail can be delivered. This includes facilitating access to the network for construction partners whilst ensuring minimal impacts to commuters with acceptable levels of accessibility and service maintained during construction. The Transport Network Changes Advisor contributes to ensuring customer facing network changes are managed successfully throughout the project lifecycle with a key focus on facilitating the closure and opening of upgraded and new stations. This entails extensive engagement with transport stakeholders including the Department of Transport and Main Roads, Brisbane City Council, Queensland Rail and technical advisors. You will apply a consistent network change governance framework which supports effective multi agency collaboration and decision making, tracking deliverables like bus service changes, rail timetable changes, traffic permit requirements and customer communications. The successful applicant will be working from our modern corporate office conveniently located in Brisbane's CBD. This opportunity will be offered until December 2026 with possibility of extension. Key Responsibilities: Manage risks and issues in network change readiness and delivery, including solutions and mitigations. Build and maintain stakeholder relationships to align network change planning and readiness. Analyse technical documents to assess customer and network impacts and recommend mitigation strategies. Conduct strategic forward planning for the Network Change Program, assessing complexity and timelines. Develop and oversee project controls and reporting. Create governance materials like risk assessments, options analyses, and assurance documentation. Lead operations management activities for network changes, including work outside regular hours, weekends, and public holidays. Conduct post-network change reviews and implement continual improvements. About You: Knowledge of public transport network operations with experience in multi-agency network change coordination. Skilled in maintaining project management, governance, and reporting frameworks (Project Management qualifications desirable). Strong written and verbal communication skills with experience providing high-level advice. Highly organised, deadline-driven, and adaptable to changing priorities.
