Job Description

Temp Station are delighted to announce we are currently recruiting a transport planning assistant to join a busy and established freight forwarding client in the Normanton WF6 area on a permanent basis. Transport Planning Assistant Job Description: Assist in ensuring the planned runs are achieved in a timely manner exceeding customer needs. Communicating with operations department, customers and hauliers. Managing all POD’s, uploading them into the TMS and sending any POD requests onto the customer or colleague. Keeping the transport and sub-contractor log up to date. Speaking to drivers throughout the day, checking on progress and dealing with any issues that may arise during the shift. Following and improving processes linked to performance. Booking out of area or hazardous jobs onto the pallet network/Hazchem portals. Providing quotes internally and externally, via calls and emails. Provide holiday cover for the planners. Will be required to be the lead planner during periods of annual leave throughout the year. MUST have at least 3 years’ experience working in a fast-paced transport department. MUST have an understanding of drivers' working hours and driving time regulations.
