About Us The Central Australian Aboriginal Alcohol Programmes Unit (CAAAPU) was established in 1991. It is an Aboriginal community controlled corporation that provides culturally appropriate alcohol and other drug (AOD) residential treatment services to Aboriginal people in Central Australia. It operates a 29 bed facility located on a 5 hectare property on the rural outskirts of Alice Springs. It provides a peaceful place for our clients to heal whilst accessing high quality AOD treatment services. We have a welcoming and professional staff and a positive workplace culture. About the Opportunity CAAAPU invites applications for full-time Treatment Manager to join our leadership team in Alice Springs. The level of the role will be commensurate with your demonstrated level of experience. Key responsibilities include: Manage and coordinate the day-to-day operation of CAAAPU residential alcohol and other drug rehabilitation program. Develop and maintain high level cultural awareness. Provide leadership and management of a team of Case/Care staff including regular appraisals and operational supervision. Provide and supervise professional development of staff. Manage treatment program timetables and staff rosters. Contribute to the intake of residents through provision of AOD comprehensive assessments, development of case plans and maintaining detailed client case notes and documentation. Maintain positive engagement with external stakeholders to identify and strengthen referral pathways. Review, assist and support staff through case review and management meetings. Participate in organisational planning processes through Leadership meetings. Undertake ‘on-call’ duties. Comply with and participate in policy development as required. Participate in Quality Assurance processes. Minimum Requirements • Relevant Tertiary qualifications in one or more of the following: Social Work, Psychology, Community Development. Diploma of Alcohol and other Drugs or equivalent studies• Current Certificate Provide First Aid & CPR• Current Working with Children Clearance (Ochre Card)• Current NT Driver’s License• Current Police Check. Experience: Minimum of 3 years’ recent program management experience. Experience in staff development, supervision and a demonstrated ability to lead a team. Experience in the provision of training to small groups. Experience in residential care settings. Knowledge: Comprehensive knowledge of Alcohol and Other Drug rehabilitation services. Demonstrated understanding of trauma Informed care. An understanding of contemporary drug and alcohol issues relating to Aboriginal people and a commitment to implementing harm minimisation approaches. Flexibility, resilience, empathy, and cultural sensitivity are essential qualities for success in this role. You will be able to work both independently and as part of our team.
