Job Description

Longitude has an exciting and brand-new opportunity for an Underwriting Manager to join our busy team in a permanent capacity located in NSW. Reporting to the General Manager of Longitude in North Sydney, this highly sought after position is accountable for closely managing an underwriting portfolio, in conjunction with the General Manager, via data analysis and regular reviews to ensure profitability for security provider. As well as this, the role has responsibility for leading, coaching and mentoring a small team of Technical Senior Underwriters to drive continuous underwriting and operational excellence. Some of the additional responsibilities include: Provide technical mentoring, training and guidance to underwriting team. Act as ultimate technical referral point and source of knowledge for underwriting team. Develop and maintain strong relationship with security provider. Be an active contributor to the success of the Company as part of leadership team by assisting in areas of development including strategic planning and policy and procedure. In addition to the above, we are looking for someone with a combination of technical and soft skills in a leadership capacity. To excel in this position, the successful candidate will have extensive experience in evaluating and analysing risk associated with strata, as well as sound analytical skills in order to make underwriting decisions. Some of the soft skills we are looking for include: Meticulous attention to detail to ensure accuracy in underwriting processes. Strong problem-solving skills to address complex underwriting challenges. Excellent customer service skills to build and maintain relationships with clients and brokers. Efficient time management skills to handle multiple tasks and meet deadlines. Strong negotiation skills to secure favourable terms and conditions for insurance policies.
