Lead a dedicated team in the delivery of essential water and sewer services Drive innovative solutions to enhance asset management and operational efficiency Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure community-focused service delivery About the role The Unit Manager Network Operations and Maintenance plays a pivotal role in overseeing the management of Council’s Water and Sewer maintenance and services across various asset classes. Reporting directly to the Director of Water and Sewer, you will provide day-to-day leadership to a skilled team responsible for technical operations, asset maintenance, and scheduling. Your role will involve the strategic planning and implementation of proactive and reactive maintenance initiatives that align with Council’s long-term operational goals. In this position, you will be instrumental in fostering a performance-driven culture, ensuring that the team operates effectively within established timeframes and budgets while promoting accountability and innovation. This position is required to provide quality customer service and create value for the community. Key Responsibilities Oversee the management of Council’s Water and Sewer maintenance and services. Provide leadership to a skilled team responsible for technical operations, asset maintenance, and scheduling. Strategically plan and implement maintenance initiatives that align with operational goals. Foster a performance-driven culture within the team. Ensure effective operation within timeframes and budgets. Minimum Qualifications A degree qualification in Engineering or related field. Demonstrated experience in a senior management role within a large organisation or utility. Proven success as a leader with the ability to grow and develop teams focused on quality outcomes and customer focus. Extensive experience in asset and facilities maintenance and operations, preferably in a Water and Sewer environment. Experience in establishing and maintaining positive relationships with stakeholders. Experience in budget management and financial forecasting. Experience in driving capability development and addressing performance issues. Additional Information This is a permanent full-time position. Hybrid and flexible working conditions are available.
