Job Description
MTP Services is putting together a project team for our client, seeking multiple highly motivated User Interface Designers to assist a big program of work. This role is integral to designing intuitive, visually appealing, and user-friendly interfaces for digital services, ensuring compliance with government accessibility and usability standards. You will work closely with stakeholders to create engaging digital experiences that improve service delivery and usability. Key Responsibilities Proven experience in a UI Designer role, preferably within a Federal Government or public sector environment. Design high-quality user interfaces for web and mobile applications, ensuring alignment with user needs and government digital standards. Develop wireframes, prototypes, and final UI designs to support user experience goals. Collaborate with UX designers, developers, and stakeholders to ensure seamless integration of visual and functional elements. Ensure compliance with Australian Government Digital Service Standard (DSS) and WCAG 2.1 accessibility guidelines. Create and maintain design systems, UI style guides, and component libraries. Conduct usability testing and iterate on designs based on user feedback and analytics. Work closely with front-end developers to ensure accurate implementation of designs. Proficiency in UI design tools such as Figma, Adobe XD, Sketch, Axure, or similar. Excellent communication, stakeholder engagement, and presentation skills. Strong attention to detail with a passion for creating aesthetically pleasing, functional designs. Ability to work in agile and iterative design environments. Knowledge of visual hierarchy, typography, colour theory, and responsive design principles. Experience designing for complex, high-traffic government or public sector websites and applications. Must have a Clearance (Baseline, NV1, NV2, TSPV). Qualifications and Experience Bachelor's degree in User Interface Design, Graphic Design, Web Design, or a related field. Relevant certifications (e.g., UI Certification, Google UX/UI Design, Human-Centred Design) are highly desirable.
