This presents a unique opportunity for a qualified Veterinarian to provide leadership, management, and support for our Life Sciences team in the next exciting phase of our journey. Role Responsibilities: Provide assessment, treatment, and care for a variety of native and exotic species Implement strategies to improve husbandry, medical, and surgical care across the animal collection Ensure compliance with relevant legislation Collaborate with scientific research projects, universities, and government agencies Key Requirements: Current Queensland Veterinary Surgeon registration, Manual ‘C’ Driver’s Licence, and Radiation Source License for Veterinary Purposes Vaccinated for Lyssavirus, Q Fever, and Tetanus Extensive experience in wildlife medicine, especially with Koalas, and proficiency in diagnostic, clinical pathology, surgical, and microscopy skills Ability to prescribe and administer drugs, manage nursing schedules, and provide emergency and critical care Self-motivated with the ability to prioritize tasks and work autonomously or as part of a cohesive team Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to stay calm in complex situations Develop and implement approved diet plans, animal welfare, and behavioural enrichment strategies High level of computer literacy (Microsoft Office, clinical records, and animal record systems) Availability for on-call services as needed This is a full-time position, working five days per week, with flexible hours discussed with the successful candidate.
