We play a significant role in the Big Build Program. The General Counsel Role As General Counsel, you will lead and manage our legal, compliance, and company secretarial functions. Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer, you will be accountable for our legal activities and strategic direction. Key responsibilities include: Managing a team of lawyers, compliance professionals, and company secretaries Setting and assessing performance goals, encouraging team spirit, and fostering professional development Providing expert and strategic legal advice to the Board and Executive Team Negotiating with multiple stakeholders, including State and local government, transport operators, contractors, and community groups Requirements and Skills To succeed in this role, you need: 10+ years of commercial law experience in-house, with demonstrable team leadership experience in a complex multi-disciplinary environment A strong understanding of state government and infrastructure projects Demonstrated commercial experience and acumen, with excellent stakeholder management skills and communication and influencing abilities Our Strategy and Vision This is an opportunity to contribute to our strategy and vision through your technical, leadership, and management skills.
