About this role The Australasia Water Business comprises a significant proportion of our Global Water Business and is in strong growth phase.The focus of this position is to lead the development of new business within the water sector in Victoria, develop and deliver on business plans and strategies, and support the delivery of positive client outcomes. In summary this role is responsible for developing the local business strategy, leading our client engagement and business development activities and developing the pipeline of water projects. As a senior member of the water business this role is expected to lead the delivery of key water projects as Project Director and/or Technical Leader. The role will work in close collaboration with others in the leadership cohort, in Victoria and across Australasia, to actively support the ongoing successful development of the Victorian water business across the full range of services offered to our water utility and government clients. What will I do? Build a strong pipeline of projects and opportunities in the Victorian water market. Business development and client relationship activities as well as leading the development of new work winning strategies and initiatives. Develop and implement longer term business plans in line with the overall Arup business strategy and the Australasian water business strategy. Develop key pursuit and client plans, setting and managing budgets for business development activities, lead and support the development of marketing materials, and prepare bids and tender documents. Provide technical oversight and leadership in water as required. This role will include support and delivery of projects within your discipline and skill set. You will also be expected to help deliver certain projects in a senior project management or project director capacity. You will work closely with the Regional Water Business Leader and your counterparts in other Arup offices across the Australasia Region. Is this role right for you? Relevant tertiary qualifications. Achieved chartership with IE Aust. or with an equivalent body. A team player with experience mentoring and training staff. Superior communication and interpersonal skills (including formal and informal presentation, written communications and reports). Keen understanding of “customer” needs (both internal and external). Intuition and creativity to develop compelling bids and proposals. Ability to relate to and work well with people at all levels within the team and within the wider office, as well as externally with clients.
