We connect our continent’s most diverse communities in Naarm/Melbourne’s west to the world through a program of international, national and local presentation, development and engagement opportunities. The Substation Vision Art visions possible futures, compels transformation, and invites us to reimagine our stories. Our contemporary moment requires art that surpasses traditional artform distinctions. At The Substation we encourage, nurture and empower artists to develop new creative languages so that we can engage the unthinkable and illuminate the unexpected. Creating and disseminating urgent artwork generates new knowledge, critical exchange and sharpens the tools we need to collectively examine our shared world.
