The Volunteer Program Manager is responsible for leading a small team who support a diverse volunteer workforce made up of 90 volunteers who contribute across three different volunteer programs. The role is responsible for managing and enabling the delivery of an efficient and agile operation and plays a central advice and coordination role across the Library with respect to the engagement and management of volunteers within all volunteer programs. The Volunteer Program Manager works closely with all State Library Victoria staff and volunteers to ensure that the services are consistent with the Library's goals, vision, and strategic objectives. The position is the volunteer system (‘Better Impact') administrator. The Volunteer Program Manager is accountable for the following: Leading a small team of Volunteer Program Officers to deliver high-quality program outcomes in alignment with organisational priorities. Strengthening State Library Victoria's volunteer engagement model to ensure sustainable and effective services are delivered by skilled, engaged, and active volunteers. Act as an advocate for volunteers, communicating needs and challenges to the broader business. Streamline workflows and processes of the volunteer program team supported by the development and implementation of volunteer-specific documentation including resources for volunteers and Volunteer Program Officers. About You As a strong advocate for volunteers, you will be passionate about the day-to-day of running a volunteer program, including alignment with best practice volunteer management, alignment with organisational goals, and continuous improvement of the volunteer experience. This will see you responsible for leading programs across the entire volunteer journey including recruitment, retention, support, communications, training, mentoring, performance management, reward, and recognition. In addition, you will have: Tertiary qualifications or relevant experience in HR, psychology, management, business, or equivalent industry experience. Demonstrated experience leading and motivating a team to deliver quality operational outcomes. Awareness of National Standards for Volunteer Involvement and their practical application in volunteer management. A proven track record of success in establishing and maintaining outstanding relationships with a range of internal and external stakeholders, including volunteers, staff, and key industry stakeholders.
