Warranty and Building Claims Trade Supervisor Meriton has designed, developed and built close to 80,000 award-winning apartments and some of the tallest residential towers across the east coast of Australia. Meriton offers sales, leasing, and property management services, as well as the luxury hotel accommodation brand Meriton Suites with 23 locations nationwide. The Warranty and Building Claims Trade Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the claims related to construction defects, materials, and workmanship for our Class 2 buildings, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and standards. The role requires an understanding of building construction, defect resolution, and warranty supervision. We are looking for an experienced tradesperson with supervisory responsibilities to coordinate and manage various tradespeople and vendors to address building claims. The successful candidate will play a critical role in ensuring the resolution of defects and the satisfaction of clients, contributing to the overall quality and reputation of our building services. The ideal candidate will demonstrate a high level of professionalism and integrity in all aspects of the role and a strong commitment to delivering exceptional customer service and resolving issues to the satisfaction of all parties involved. In this role you will: Conduct detailed inspections of building defects and warranty issues to assess the scope and nature of repairs needed. Evaluate and process warranty claims related to construction defects, materials, and workmanship. Ensure timely and efficient processing of claims and repairs that align with warranty coverage, company policies, and adhere to legal and regulatory requirements. Resolve trade-related conflicts or issues promptly and professionally. Complete ad hoc warranty, building claim jobs, 2% bond inspection, and defect report repairs. Liaise with head office, homeowners, contractors, and other stakeholders to identify claim issues, coordinate repair work, and develop effective solutions to resolve issues efficiently. Communicate with clients and property owners to provide updates and manage expectations throughout the claims process. Assist with the supervision of combustible cladding fire order. Identify and mitigate potential risks or recurring issues to prevent future claims. Provide guidance, training, and support to team members. Maintain accurate records for claims, inspections, and repairs and provide insights on claim trends and trade performance through Maintain X. Prepare comprehensive reports for management, including defect analysis and recommendations for process improvements. To be considered for this role you: Will have proven experience of working with Class 2 building defects and handling complex warranty claims. Have an understanding of the DPB Act and the 2% strata bond repairs requirements. Have strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen eye for detail. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to manage relationships with clients and stakeholders effectively. Have proven leadership capabilities and experience in managing a team. It would be an advantage to have experience on Maintain X or similar systems.
