About the role: The Meter Reader position involves driving to the start of an allocated route/s and then moving on foot from location to location reading and logging data from water meters into a hand-held device for commercial and domestic properties throughout the Unitywater contract area. We are offering casual positions initially with the potential to go full-time for the right candidate. Candidates would ideally reside within the Moreton Bay Region and should be comfortable working outdoors in all types of weather conditions and terrain, walking between 10km and 30km per day. This is a very physically demanding position where we work towards tight deadlines to deliver a high level of service standards. What you will bring to the role: Must have a valid driver's licence Must have own reliable vehicle A high regard for health, safety, environment, and quality Ability to walk approximately 10-30 km each day Available to work between 5 – 7 hours/day (weekdays) Comfortable entering properties safely with animals Be reliable, punctual and be able to meet deadlines High attention to detail Previous meter reading experience would be considered highly desirable Willingness to undertake a police check, pre-employment medical including drug and alcohol screening The successful applicants will receive: Full training provided Company uniform provided Rewarding and challenging job 11 week on 2 week off cycle roster (Monday to Friday) If you enjoy the great outdoors and like to work independently then this could be the career for you!
