Job Description

We are looking for a Water Quality Engineer on an 18 month fixed term contract who is passionate about delivering essential water, wastewater, waste and recycling services. The role You will provide operations and technical support in wastewater to Operations teams in both Australia and New Zealand. You will lead significant projects in relation to invoice production, data analysis, water quality analysis and reporting, plant commissioning, systems support and coordination of projects. The role will also see you providing leadership to the Operations Support Engineer (or Graduate) within the Water Quality team. Please email for queries around salary range for this position. Key responsibilities Provide technical input and support drinking water and wastewater operations. Lead investigations and technical assessment of complex engineering investigations into water treatment, wastewater treatment, membrane processes and water quality and optimisation of treatments. Project manage drinking water, wastewater and recycled water quality related projects. Develop technical reports on the performance and operation of processes. Assist with plant commissioning and operations. Drive process, chemical and energy optimisation initiatives. Develop, review, and maintain water quality programs. Assist with water quality data management and analysis. Liaise with external labs and water quality enquiries from internal and external stakeholders. Provide tactical and technical advice on risk management plans and any water related incidents. Adhere to TRILITY’s quality assurance/work health and safety requirements. Other duties as directed by the Water Quality Manager. What we are looking for 5+ years’ experience of drinking water and wastewater technologies and processes, systems analysis and management. Tertiary qualifications in science or engineering. Operational or design related experience in drinking water, biological wastewater and membrane processes. Sound understanding of ADWG, AGWR and EPA guidelines. Extensive experience in water risk management systems. Demonstrated experience in leading a technical team in solving engineering or water quality problems. Good client management, project management and ability of technical delivery of projects. Experience with design (P&IDs, PFDs) and modelling (including use of BIOWIN, MEDLI, AUTOCAD & VISIO). Competent skills in using Microsoft Office suite. Good written and oral presentation skills. Ability to produce high quality reports and data analysis. Identify and solve problems of a scientific and technical nature, coupled with effective analytical and investigative skills.
