Add expected salary to your profile for insights Welfare & Wellbeing Officer (Tully, 4854) About the Role: As a Welfare & Wellbeing Officer, you will join the Pacific Workforce Support team and will have a pivotal role in supporting our PALM team, with no two days being the same. This dynamic and varied role requires you to provide care and support to our PALM team, ensuring their wellbeing and addressing any concerns. Flexible working hours are available, with a working schedule tailored to meet operational needs while considering personal requirements. Weekend and occasional after-hour work may be required to address urgent matters. This is a Full-Time position. About Mackays: Established in 1945 from one man, one paddock, to the fourth generation - The Mackay Group is Australia’s leading banana grower. From planting the first crop of bananas over 76 years ago, the farming business has expanded to produce bananas, papaya, sugarcane, cattle, and avocados. The business is now directed by the family’s 3rd generation and the company employs more than 550 employees across 9 locations stretching from Cooktown to Melbourne. In more recent years, this vertically integrated business has expanded into sales, ripening, and processing of produce. Location: This position is based at our Tully Office (4854). Responsibilities: Working cohesively with the other Welfare & Wellbeing Officers and the wider Pacific Workforce Support team Develop and maintain strong, trusting relationships with PALM workers Primary point of contact for all worker inquiries Identify and address issues, ensuring timely solutions Coordinate arrivals, inductions, and departures of PALM workers Assist with transportation of workers to various locations, as necessary Assist workers with access to services required (e.g. medical care) Administrative tasks as required, including timely responses to emails, & ensuring all employment documents are recorded appropriately Provide extensive support and advice to all PALM workers and the program About You: Adaptable to changing circumstances with strong prioritisation skills Experience working with a culturally diverse workforce is an advantage Ability to build a trusting relationship with workers, where English is often a second language Open Drivers licence, essential (MR or HR licence desirable - training will be provided) First Aid Certificate essential (course will be provided if certificate not already attained) Strong attention to detail, thoroughness, and problem-solving skills Experience in a similar role is not required Your application will include the following questions: Which of the following statements best describes your right to work in Australia?
