Work Experience - Cost Management Application Deadline: 31 March 2025 Department: QS Employment Type: Temporary Location: G&T - UK WIDE Description Summary: As a work experience student working for up to two weeks within one of our Cost Management teams, you will be spending your time learning about the firm, the work we do, the sectors we work in, the projects we work on, and the wider industry. You will also get the chance to shadow various members of the team you join, enabling you to gain valuable working experience during your time with us. You will be developing your business communication skills and working alongside others who will guide you through processes and procedures relevant to the team. The work experience will be varied although the actual experience gained will be dependent on the team and sector you are working in. Role Overview: In conjunction with your allocated line manager and wider team, the role could include the following: Learning about construction costs and contracts Working in the office or collecting information from visits to buildings, land and construction sites Helping to take measurements of buildings, land, or plans, and reviewing costs Helping the team to undertake costings and/or measurements and/or valuations using information collected from research Attending meetings with other professionals and clients to obtain and provide information relating to relevant projects Learning how to use measurement software such as CAD or CostX Using Excel and Outlook Required Qualifications & Skills: Trustworthy and reliable Good listening and communication skills Ability to work as part of a team and on own initiative Dedication and commitment Desire to learn Genuine interest in construction and property #J-18808-Ljbffr
