Gate Gourmet Oceania (Australia and New Zealand) are looking to enhance their Risk and Compliance Management team and add to it a dedicated Work Health and Safety (WHS) Manager to lead and enhance the Safety Culture and Systems across its catering facilities. Your new role You will play a pivotal role in ensuring the wellbeing of all staff through developing, implementing, and maintaining comprehensive health and safety programs to ensure compliance and promote a safe working environment across all catering stations. You will also support the Risk and Compliance Management team with policy development and implementation, safety promotion, education and safety programs. Reporting to the Head of Compliance and Quality Assurance, your key responsibilities will include: Ensuring the Work Health and Safety Management System is implemented and maintained to provide the highest level of WHS risk and compliance management across all business functions. Developing and implementing robust WHS policies and procedures. Conducting risk assessments across areas of operations and key operational processes. Maintaining the business risk and license registers. Promoting a culture of safety within the organisation. Providing leadership to a passionate team of Health and Safety representatives, empowering them to successfully perform their role and duties. Providing expert advice to the business for any health and safety matters. Conducting and participating in internal and external safety and security audits and inspections. Investigating workplace incidents and implementing corrective actions. Liaising with internal and external stakeholders regarding WHS compliance. Supporting with the day-to-day implementation of the business Safety Management System (SMS). Supporting with the review and updates of the business Safety Management System (SMS) ensuring compliance with legislative (federal and state), regulatory, global Gategroup and customer standards and guidelines. Developing, updating and communicating key Compliance dashboards and reports to internal and external stakeholders. About you Bring equivalent experience in a relevant field. Approximately 5 years' industry-based experience in a WHS, risk and compliance management role. Experience in implementing safety and compliance practices in a similar industry. Ability to develop effective Training programs. Advanced knowledge of safety systems and standards. A strong understanding of WHS legislation and compliance requirements. Formal qualifications in WHS, Lead Auditor or management system qualifications. Cert IV in Training and Assessment & Cert IV in WH&S/ Diploma. Strong problem-solving abilities.
