About the role Join AGL in this newly created role, where you'll manage workers compensation and salary continuance claims while driving better outcomes for our people and business. Internally referred to as the Personal Injury Insurance Business Partner, this critical role offers the unique opportunity to help establish AGL’s self-insurance portfolio from the ground up, shaping strategies that protect both employees and the organisation. What You’ll Do: Claims Management: Partner with Injury Management, People & Culture, and external stakeholders to resolve claims efficiently and compassionately. Advice & Coaching: Provide practical guidance to leaders on claims progress, legal responsibilities, and compliance. Stakeholder Engagement: Build and maintain strong relationships with insurers, brokers, legal teams, and regulators to support seamless claims management. Return-to-Work Strategy: Collaborate with Injury Management Specialists to develop early intervention strategies that enable successful returns to work. Data & Reporting: Maintain compliance by managing accurate case files and delivering actionable insights through regular reporting. Continuous Improvement: Lead initiatives to improve claims processes, training programs, and injury management systems, embedding best practices across AGL. What You’ll Bring: Proven experience in workers compensation, injury management, or related fields, ideally within a self-insurance environment. In-depth understanding of occupational rehabilitation, relevant legal frameworks, and compliance requirements. Strong interpersonal, negotiation, and coaching skills, with a passion for achieving positive employee outcomes. Excellent stakeholder engagement abilities, managing relationships with insurers, occupational rehab providers, and regulators effectively. Exceptional organisational skills, with attention to detail and the ability to balance multiple priorities. Experience in self-insurance and data analytics proficiency are highly desirable.
