Job Description

Mackay Regional Council is seeking a dedicated and experienced safety professional to join our team as the Workplace Health and Safety Advisor. These roles are crucial in driving a positive safety culture across the Council and supporting the continued growth of MRC’s safety practices. We have two opportunities available as a Workplace Health & Safety Advisor: 1 x Permanent Fulltime role. 1 x Temporary Fulltime 3-year contract. About this opportunity: In this position, you will provide expert advice and support on WH&S, fire safety, and emergency planning to management, employees, contractors, and the public. The ideal candidate will have proven experience in WH&S roles within dynamic and diverse organisations, a thorough understanding of WH&S regulatory frameworks, and the ability to investigate incidents or hazards and recommend measures to minimise risks. Essential Qualifications, Experience & Skills: A recognised relevant tertiary qualification in Workplace Health and Safety (Diploma or Cert IV) A current QLD ‘C’ Class drivers’ licence General Construction Industry Safety Induction Card (White/Blue) is also required. Candidates who also hold the following will be highly regarded: Cert IV in Training & Assessment ICAM/Incident Investigations Building Fire Safety Advisor Rehab/Return to Work Why work for Mackay Regional Council?
