Communication Support Worker Location: South Leeds area Start Date: Feb half term Duration: Long term, potentially permanent role Working Hours: Full-time Salary: 90- 100 per day Role Overview: We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Communication Support Worker to provide 1:1 support for a non-verbal student with autism in South Leeds. This role is integral to fostering a nurturing and supportive learning environment, ensuring the student can access the curriculum and thrive academically and socially. Key Responsibilities: Provide consistent 1:1 support to a non-verbal student with autism. Implement and follow individualised education plans (IEPs). Utilise effective communication strategies tailored to the student's needs. Foster a nurturing and caring atmosphere to support the student's learning and development. Manage and promote good behaviour, implementing positive behaviour strategies. Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other professionals to ensure holistic support. Monitor and record the student's progress, adapting support strategies as necessary. Requirements: Experience working with children with autism, particularly those who are non-verbal. Strong behaviour management skills. A nurturing and caring approach to support and development. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and non-verbal. Patience, empathy, and a positive attitude. Relevant qualifications or training in special education needs (SEN) or a related field is desirable. Benefits: Competitive daily rate of 90- 100.
