We are urgently seeking your payroll experience for an upcoming temporary assignment with a professional government department in Ipswich. This role is commencing asap (anticipated for 6 months initially, may extend) and duties include: Act as the first point of contact for payroll enquiries, provide quality payroll advice and support including enquiry resolution and responding to error identification with corrective action being undertaken. Prepare and input payroll and human resource information including accurate processing of timesheets, schedules, leave applications, wage classifications and higher duties. Process the weekly payment cycle and assist with checking and maintenance of records to ensure accuracy, service quality and data integrity. Provide payroll information to superannuation funds and submit remittance for weekly contributions. Prepare forms and reports in relation to payroll deductions – for instance Child Support, Centrelink, taxation and related correspondence. Maintain a substantial and current knowledge of Payroll and Kronos systems and interfaces between same. To be considered for this opportunity, you should demonstrate: Previous experience in the end-to-end payroll function in a medium to large organisation. Experience in SAP Payroll, Kronos Timekeeping or Successfactors highly desirable (but not essential). Sound knowledge and understanding of the application of Industrial Awards and Agreements, relevant legislation and regulations governing payroll and superannuation. Proven organisational and time-management skills to meet weekly deadlines. Substantial interpersonal and written and verbal communication skills with a strong focus on the provision of quality customer service. Skilled in MS Word, MS Excel and MS Outlook, as well as experience with electronic payroll systems. Demonstrated ability to work within a team environment. Availability to work 8:00am – 4:30pm (Monday – Friday) and commence asap. This is an opportunity to work with a highly professional government department in Ipswich (easily accessible to public transport and car park facilities) with a casual hourly rate of $51.21/hour (plus superannuation).
