89958 - Business Analyst Digital Platforms About the National Film and Sound Archive The National Film and Sound Archive of Australia (NFSA) is Australia’s audiovisual archive, telling the national story by collecting, preserving and sharing audiovisual media. The collection dates back to 1935, making it one of the world’s oldest audiovisual collections. It is also one of the country’s most used cultural collections, with around 125 million views of collection content each year. The NFSA is undergoing significant change, establishing itself as Australia’s most dynamic cultural organization through digital transformation. About the Team The Digital Platforms team is part of NFSA's Digital Branch. This team builds and manages our websites and services, including ‘Search’ and ‘our Player’, and a range of machine learning and data pipelines that pioneer the idea of a ‘conversational archive’. The Opportunity The Business Analyst, Digital Platforms will play a key role in three upcoming NFSA technology projects: the Platform 2025 website, the migration of material from our Shop service to NFSA Player, and new machine learning services to be launched in 2026. This role will assist with requirements gathering, business analysis, user research, user-story, and use-case creation across various NFSA Digital Platforms projects. Job Description Key Responsibilities/Duties Interviewing internal and external users of NFSA services to understand their experiences and identify areas for improvement. Documenting insights into digital strategy planning, user stories, use cases, and project plans for developers and engineers. Project managing ongoing digital development to ensure projects are completed to specification, on budget, and on time. Ensuring compliance with best practice standards, reporting, and budgeting requirements. Providing ad hoc project support to assist other Business Analysts, Project Managers, and Digital Platforms’ management. Selection Criteria Ability to manage complex business challenges into actionable documentation. Effective verbal and written communication skills, including high-quality documentation and reporting. Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, adaptive team environment. Experience in supporting productive working relationships as a team member with a client-focused approach. Ability to prioritize, plan, and organize work independently. Desired Skills and Experience Desirable: Experience as a coordinator, business analyst, or project manager on large-scale digital projects. Experience in a project management or content strategy role within a National Cultural Institution or similar organization.
