Westpac Institutional Bank (WIB) manages the financial needs of corporate, institutional and government clients that are based, or have interests in, Australia and New Zealand. Within WIB’s Financial Institutions and Government (FIG) industry team, the Non-Bank Financial Institutions coverage team aspires to deliver strategic and relevant engagement to a diverse group of financial institutions that spans specialty finance, financial & strategic investors and service providers. As an Associate Director/ Director within Non-Bank Financial Institutions you will be responsible for driving strategic engagement and pro-active, advice-led business origination with Westpac’s key institutional clients. Non-Bank Financial Institutions’ objective is to achieve high levels of year-on-year growth and optimal return on equity, by developing, managing and deepening the relationship with a portfolio of private and publicly listed clients. Key to the success of the role will be navigating broad, globally orientated financial institution customers and ensuring that WBC’s global coverage and product platform is actively engaged. Key responsibilities include: Industry strategy to include key involvement in, coordination and delivery of written industry strategies including related research and analysis; and industry deep dive analysis and financial analysis Customer centric activities to include coordinating the professional delivery of tailored financial and transactional solutions for customers including by developing customer presentation material. Preparing, maintaining, managing and executing a global account plan and developing deep customer relationships and facilitating appropriate customer engagement across the WIB platform Product Origination and supporting the execution of direct product deployment in conjunction with relevant product specialists across the WIB Financial Institutions. Remaining abreast of and communicating effectively client, market and regulatory developments for credit and business development reasons Overseeing internal and external matters necessary for the smooth running of a customer portfolio. Development and execution of local sector strategy and quality and consistent customer account planning. Delivery on revenue and balance sheet growth targets in line with KPIs Effective engagement of key stakeholders across risk, product, business development, Customer Insights and Analytics and group segments. What do I need? To be successful in this role you will have the ability to build, grow and manage relationships with financial sponsors and other investors. You will have proven corporate and structured debt experience and have sound negotiating skills. You will be highly numerate with the ability to navigate complex systems. In addition to this you will have: A degree/ be professionally qualified – Business/Finance/Accounting/CFA. Credit Risk Management skills. Compelling communication skills. How do I apply? Start here.
