Job Description
Eden Ritchie Recruitment is seeking an experienced AO8 Manager to lead financial reporting functions within a Queensland Government department. This role offers a fantastic opportunity for a seasoned finance professional to provide strategic leadership and ensure compliance with financial management regulations and accounting standards.Key Responsibilities: Lead the preparation of general and specific purpose financial statements in line with Australian Accounting Standards, financial management legislation, and Queensland Treasury guidelines. Oversee the asset accounting function, including managing the annual asset revaluation process, ensuring compliance with Non-Current Asset Policies and departmental guidelines. Manage periodic and ad-hoc financial reporting to Queensland Treasury and other government agencies. Oversee the end-of-month process, including reconciliations and working papers, to ensure the integrity of the department’s general ledger and financial reports. Foster a culture of continuous learning, cross-skilling, and professional development within the team. About You: Proven experience in financial reporting and asset accounting within a government or large corporate environment. Strong knowledge of Australian Accounting Standards and financial management legislation. Exceptional leadership skills with the ability to develop teams and drive operational excellence. Experience in high-level stakeholder engagement and reporting to government bodies. Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
