About the Role We have an opportunity for a highly motivated Finance Manager to join our national finance team at BDO. The Finance Manager will be responsible for managing the operations of the financial accounting team, monthly reporting and providing key insights and strategic direction to assist with business decision making. You will ensure strong financial governance and compliance across the financials, while collaborating with stakeholders to manage results and expectations. Key responsibilities include: Manage the day-to-day activities of the financial accounting team Prepare and analyse monthly financial statements, including income statements and balance sheets Lead month end and year end closing processes, including reconciliations, journal entries and accruals Review balance sheet reconciliations and ensure accuracy of the accounts Support the interim and annual audit process Conduct weekly cashflow analysis and general cashflow management (e.g., sweeps) Identify and maintain key processes and controls to ensure strong “financial hygiene” Supervise and mentor a team of accountants, ensuring their professional development and performance. Lead and empower the team to deliver against initiatives of the Finance Strategy Maintain meticulous documentation and records to adhere to BDO’s policies and procedures Lead process improvement and leverage technology to enhance efficiency and best practice Work with the Senior Finance Manager, the CFO and wider finance team or business on relevant projects About You Demonstrated experience in leading month-end processes for a large or complex entity Demonstrated experience in process improvement, particularly in relation to month end processes CA/ CPA qualified with 5+ years of experience in a Financial Accounting role, ideally within a professional services environment Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Excel skills Workday system experience is an advantage Demonstrable experience in leading and developing a finance team Strong communication skills and experience liaising with senior stakeholders Driven, dynamic and adaptable to a changing environment Why BDO?
