Exciting permanent full-time opportunity for an experienced AOD professional to deliver individual counselling, case management and group facilitation at a 24/7 AOD Rehabilitation Facility. The AOD Clinician is responsible for providing opportunities for residents to identify and address risk taking behavioural patterns and develop lifestyles of self-determined purpose. Reporting to the Operations Manager, the AOD Clinician provides case management to a caseload of up to 15 residents. This includes individual and group interventions and supporting the resident to meet the goals of their individual treatment plans through appropriate referrals to other agencies. The AOD Clinician works within a multidisciplinary team to ensure that residents receive the full benefits of the program and that most residents can complete the full program and graduate. Develop treatment and intervention plans, aligning them with individual client goals. Provide case management, advocacy, referrals support and therapeutic interventions to residents accessing residential rehabilitation services including assessment and interventions to ensure timely and appropriate referrals. Provide evidence-based therapeutic interventions and programs inclusive of various modalities of individual and group supervision. Utilize brief interventions, de-escalation strategies and motivational interviewing and other strategies to motivate residents in treatment. Facilitate group interventions focused on a range of treatment modalities including psychoeducation, trauma-informed care, relapse prevention, and other therapeutic interventions when required. Actively participate and contribute professionally in clinical review meetings. Maintain comprehensive client documentation and case notes, ensuring accuracy and compliance and capturing relevant details for analysis. What we're looking for: Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Youth Work, Mental Health or other similar health-discipline. Certificate IV in AOD or 4 AOD core competencies or willingness to complete studies during employment within first 6 months of employment. Proven experience conducting assessments, case management and development of client-centred treatment plans with clients with complex needs. Minimum of two years’ experience working within the alcohol and drug sector, mental health or other primary health care environment with an understanding of AOD service navigation. Strong interpersonal verbal skills with the ability to build rapport, negotiate and facilitate client outcomes and resolve conflict with a diverse group of people with complex needs using compassion. Demonstrated experience in assessment of clients with complex needs utilising relevant AOD screening tools. Strong professional written case noting skills.
