Our client is a small APS agency with around 60 staff. They work to enhance the productivity, sustainability, and resilience of food and farming systems.They achieve this by facilitating, funding, and overseeing research collaborations with partnership between Australia and other countries around the world.The Opportunity This role is being offered as a 12-month non-ongoing contract, with the possibility of becoming a permanent position.As part of a dynamic and collaborative team, you’ll have the chance to expand your expertise beyond financial reporting, gaining valuable experience across a broader range of responsibilities.The Role Key responsibilities include: Preparation of end of year financial statements End of month processing and reconciliations Prepare and submit reporting to the Department of Finance Manage cash flow requirements ensuring reconciliations are completed in a timely manner Preparation of GST returns and FBT returns Manage AP / AR functions The Ideal Person You will likely be working for another government department delivering financial statements as it requires someone to get across the work requirements quickly.You could also be someone who has worked as an external auditor looking to make the transition across to the other side of the desk.You will be degree qualified and have obtained your CA/CPA qualifications.You will be known for your analytical skills and as well your ability to be a forward thinker who has strong written and verbal communication skills.You are likely the go-to person in your organisations to provide solutions to problems that arise or look at processes to see if any efficiencies can be gained.Applicants MUST be Australian Citizens to be considered for this opportunity.
