Location: Melbourne and Perth The National Anti-Corruption Commission enhances integrity in the Commonwealth public sector by deterring, detecting and preventing corrupt conduct involving Commonwealth public officials. About these opportunities The NACC has Intelligence Analyst positions available for immediate filling in Melbourne and Perth. A merit list will be established to fill vacancies arising in the next 18 months. About the role NACC Operational Intelligence Analysts are an integral part of a team that investigates allegations of corruption. Operational Intelligence Analysts collect, collate, analyse, and produce intelligence products derived from a variety of sources to provide insight to operations and assessments, and guide tactical decision making. Operational Intelligence Analysts may work on several matters at one time. In support of the Commission’s corruption investigations, Operational Intelligence Analysts will conduct varied field work including assisting with search warrants, suspect interviews, enquiries, and interstate travel. You will also be able to apply your skills to the identification and development of targets, leads, and apply a balanced and objective assessment of corruption allegations. Operational Intelligence Analysts may be exposed to highly sensitive information involving public officials at all levels. Professionalism and discretion will be necessary when representing the Commission and engaging with stakeholders in the public and private sectors. Key activities The successful candidate will work under the general direction of a Senior Intelligence Analyst (Operations). Engage with a variety of relevant stakeholders, third parties, and other sources to collect raw data, information, and intelligence in a structured and efficient manner, in support of the NACC’s priorities. Collate and store information of relevance to the Commission for current and future use. Conduct analysis and provide insight and assessment in support of the Commission’s decision-making and functions. Prepare intelligence reports for internal and external dissemination and actively participate in intelligence review and feedback processes. Manage priorities and produce timely intelligence products. Contribute intelligence support to all aspects of the investigation lifecycle including assessment, planning, resolution, and finalisation. Highlight and refer potential corruption weaknesses and trends identified throughout an investigation to relevant internal stakeholders. Conduct intelligence activities within the framework of investigation requirements and follow relevant legislative and policy guidelines. Classification: APS Level 6 Salary: $90,199 - $102,860 plus service allowance The NACC is a small agency. In addition to these activities, from time to time you may be asked to undertake tasks that are outside your usual span of duties but that are within the range of your capabilities. Supporting one another in this way provides opportunities for exposure across the agency and is an integral part of the NACC’s positive workplace culture. Eligibility Employment with the NACC is subject to the following conditions: Citizenship – applicants must be an Australian Citizen. Security clearance – this is a Designated Security Assessment Position. The occupant of this position will be required to undergo and maintain a security clearance to Negative Vetting 1. Suitability assessment - the NACC must be satisfied that successful applicants are of suitable character. They must undergo a rigorous pre-employment suitability screening process that can be intrusive in nature including (but is not limited to) detailed background, character, employment, police and financial checks. Probation - a probation period will apply to a new ongoing engagement in the Australian Public Service.
