This is your chance to work within the health sector for a unique Federal Government Agency based in the heart of the CBD.As a Senior Project Support Officer , you will be entrusted with managing complex and challenging tasks, operating with limited direction while having the opportunity for reasonable autonomy and accountability. At this level, you will exercise initiative and sound judgment in interpreting policies, as well as applying practices and procedures.In this role, you will provide expert technical, professional, and policy advice to address intricate issues. Additionally, you may contribute to strategic planning, program and project management, and policy development. Your work will often involve engaging with the public on difficult or sensitive matters, and you will be called upon to represent the organization in liaising with a broad spectrum of stakeholders.You may also be responsible for overseeing management duties, including prioritizing tasks, organizing workflows, and ensuring smooth project execution. This position offers a dynamic and impactful environment, where your decisions and leadership will directly contribute to the success of key initiatives.As a Senior Project Support Officer , you will: Assist Senior Project Managers with key project management activities, ensuring end-to-end delivery across projects. This includes monitoring, tracking, and reporting the status of project deliverables, ensuring that time, cost, and quality metrics align with approved project documents. Support the preparation of detailed Project Status Reports, as well as any ad-hoc reporting requests to keep stakeholders informed. Collaborate with senior leadership , including the Program Director, Program Manager, and Senior Project Managers, to ensure that both program and project outcomes are delivered on track and aligned with strategic objectives. Manage and maintain the RAIDD register (Risks, Actions, Issues, Dependencies, and Decisions) in partnership with relevant stakeholders, ensuring that potential issues are proactively addressed and managed. Raise risks and issues as necessary, ensuring that critical concerns are flagged to the appropriate parties. Develop, monitor, and update project schedules in collaboration with Senior Project Managers, the Program Manager, and the Program Director, ensuring that timelines remain on track and any adjustments are made as needed. Escalate deviations in line with defined tolerance thresholds to Senior Project Managers, Program Managers, or the Program Director, ensuring effective oversight and resolution. Support the management of project change processes in collaboration with the Project Managers, Program Manager, and/or Program Director, ensuring that changes are handled smoothly and efficiently. Assist the project team in developing and maintaining comprehensive briefing papers for relevant governance committees and advisory groups, ensuring that all critical information is effectively communicated and decisions can be made promptly. In addition, key experience, knowledge and skills include: At least 5 years’ experience as a Project Officer within large organisations or Federal Government Adept with MS Office Suite Excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to engage with numerous stakeholders via several means, including workshop facilitation Knowledge of health or digital health projects Project management qualification is desirable Ability to obtain and maintain national police check. You will hold Australian Citizenship for this role, as a Baseline Security Clearance will need to be obtained.These are 12 month assignments based in Brisbane, Sydney or Canberra with hybrid flex (up to 3 days per week WFH) and extension options.
