About the Role: Canberra Health Services is looking for reliable, keen and outgoing Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander People to join our team of Aboriginal Liaison Officers who provide confidential cultural, emotional and wellbeing support to patients and their families. This is a new position within The Canberra Hospital Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Liaison Service. The successful applicant should have a thorough understanding of the barriers for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander People accessing health care. An order of merit may be established to fill future vacancies within the next 12 months. Please note prior to commencement successful candidates will be required to: Prior to commencing this role, a current registration issued under the Working with Vulnerable People (Background Checking) Act 2011 is required. Comply with Canberra Health Services Occupational Assessment, Screening and Vaccination policy. Note: This is an Identified position in accordance with Section 27(4) of the Public Sector Management Act 1994 and is only open to an Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander person.
