About the role: We are currently seeking an Accounts Officer experienced in Accounts Receivable to join our dynamic and hardworking team. This is a full time, 12-month contract to cover a period of parental leave. The successful candidate will be responsible for all elements of the accounts receivable function and for the provision and promotion of a high-quality standard of customer service. In addition, you will provide support and back up as required to the wider AP/AR team. This is a high volume, fast paced role that requires attention to detail, strong organisational and problem-solving skills, and a deep understanding of financial processes to ensure the efficient and accurate handling of financial data. You will need to be flexible, customer focused, and work well both autonomously and in a team environment. Your responsibilities will include: Generate and send customer invoices and statements as per established billing cycles. Record and post customer payments in the accounting system. Follow up with customers on overdue payments and resolve any billing discrepancies. Maintain accurate records of all accounts receivable transactions. Reconcile customer accounts and resolve discrepancies as necessary. Provide regular updates on accounts receivable aging and collection efforts. Assist in the preparation of periodic financial reports and analysis related to accounts receivable. Assist in the month-end and year-end financial closing processes. Collaborate with other finance team members to ensure accurate financial reporting. Participate in financial audits and provide necessary documentation and support. Contribute to process improvement initiatives aimed at increasing efficiency and accuracy. To be considered for this role you need to demonstrate the following selection criteria in your application: Certificate or Diploma in Accounting/Bookkeeping, or a related field (preferred but not essential). Strong understanding of financial principles and processes. Proficiency in financial software and Microsoft Excel. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Detail-oriented and capable of working with a high degree of accuracy and pace. Ability to prioritise tasks and manage time effectively. Problem-solving and analytical skills. Knowledge of relevant financial regulations and compliance. Team player with a collaborative attitude. A proactive and solutions-focused approach.
