Where you'll be working: Emergency Registrations & Admissions, Ryde Hospital. Ryde Hospital is undergoing an incredible $479 million complete hospital redevelopment that will transform the delivery of healthcare for the Ryde local community. The Ryde Hospital Redevelopment will result in new health facilities and enhanced services including emergency, ICU/critical care, inpatient units, outpatient/ambulatory care services and much more. Construction commenced in early 2023, and will provide you with a wonderful and exciting opportunity to be part of the Ryde team to change the future health services for the Ryde Community completely. What you'll be doing: The Patient Services Admission Officer, Emergency Registrations and Admissions Department is responsible for the timely admission (administrative) and/or transfer of all patients who present to the Emergency Department. The position plays a pivotal role in interviewing, correctly classifying patients and providing accurate and timely information about using private health insurance within the public hospital system. Other general Emergency Department administrative functions also include providing switchboard relief.Please note this Department operates 24/7 and this position involves working a rotating roster over 7 days with 3 different shift types (am, pm and overnight). People of Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander background are encouraged to apply. Minimum Requirements: Proven written and verbal communication skills. Demonstrated computer and data entry experience. Demonstrated experience in organising and prioritising workload.
