The Game Management Authority (GMA) is an independent statutory authority responsible for the regulation of game hunting in Victoria. It delivers programs to improve and promote sustainable and responsible hunting in Victoria.The GMA is responsible for: issuing Game Licences and related testing; managing open and closed seasons for game species; enforcing game hunting laws and taking action against those who do not hunt legally; educating and informing hunters on how to hunt legally and responsibly in Victoria. Administration Officer Ongoing Usual hours of work: Full Time (0.8 FTE or some flexibility may be available) Usual work location: Melbourne CBD (flexibility may be available) The Team The position of Administration Officer forms a part of the Stakeholder and Hunting Programs Division within the Game Management Authority. The Game Management Authority delivers programs to improve and promote sustainability and responsibility in game hunting within Victoria. The Stakeholder and Hunting Programs Division is focused on maintaining and managing hunting stakeholder relationships and providing practical and useful advice, education, licensing and training to hunters, to increase voluntary compliance. The Role The Administration Officer works as part of a small team to coordinate and administer a management framework that supports a commercial and sustainable wildlife harvest program. The responsibilities of the Administration Officer will include: Delivering administrative services to support a state-wide commercial wildlife harvesting program. This includes the processing and assessment of applications, allocation of quota and distribution of tags. Establishing good working relationships with commercial stakeholders, other divisions within the GMA and other government departments. Supporting necessary corporate contracts and service agreements to maintain a licensing system and assist in resolving any operational service delivery problems. About You The successful candidate will ideally have the following skills and experience: Well-developed interpersonal skills and the ability to build and maintain positive relationships with stakeholders, including the ability to work collaboratively with all GMA staff and partner agencies and the ability to confidently communicate with people from diverse backgrounds. Ensures written communication is succinct and fit-for-purpose, containing the necessary information to allow program assessment or inform decision-making processes. Constantly looks for continuous improvement opportunities and ways to innovate, takes responsibility for correcting problems promptly and without becoming defensive; monitors client and stakeholder satisfaction.
