Administration Officer (Lvl 2) - Emergency Department - Temp FT South Western Sydney Local Health District Employment Type: Temporary Full Time, 38 hrs per week until March 2026 Location: Fairfield Hospital Position Classification: Administration Office Level 2 Remuneration: $32.30 - $33.37 per hour About the Opportunity Are you an organised and motivated individual with a passion for providing high-quality administrative support in a fast-paced and high stress environment? Fairfield Hospital Emergency Department is seeking a dedicated Administration Officer demonstrating empathy, respect, teamwork and compassion to join our dynamic, supportive team on a Maternity Leave relief basis. This is a unique opportunity to contribute to the essential day-to-day operations of a critical healthcare service. In this role, you will be responsible for a wide range of administrative tasks, including patient data entry and management, general office support and communication with a diverse, multidisciplinary team. As the first point of contact for patients, staff and visitors, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring smooth communication and efficient workflow within the department. Your ability to prioritise, multitask, remain calm under pressure and attention to detail in a trauma setting will be essential in maintaining the high standards of care we provide. The ideal candidate will have previous experience in an administrative role, strong communication and computer literacy and excellent interpersonal skills. Above all, we are looking for someone motivated, with a proactive attitude, and a commitment to teamwork, as you will work closely with both clinical and non-clinical staff to support the department's operations. What You'll be Doing To support the administration operations of Fairfield Hospital by providing exceptional customer service as the first point of contact for all patients, visitors and staff, and undertaking a range of clerical tasks in an efficient and effective manner. How to Apply To be considered for this position, please ensure you address the below questions as thoroughly as possible: Demonstrate your ability to plan, prioritise and organise work activities and demonstrate your strong attention to detail with a very high level of accuracy when working with a range of computer and electronic systems and processes and multilingual community. Can you provide an example of how you have dealt with a difficult customer situation in your current or previous role? How did you handle this to ensure a positive outcome for both the individual and the team? Demonstrate listening and questioning skills applied to a customer service environment and your ability to work independently and as a team member to achieve high quality service outcomes. Demonstrate your ability to be flexible and adaptable to changing priorities as this challenging environment is requiring an ability to work a 24/7 day rotating rosters including nights, weekends, public holidays and extra shifts at short notice. To be eligible for permanent appointment to a position in NSW Health, you must have an Australian citizenship or permanent Australian residency.
