Administration Officer - Registration and Authorisations Teachers Registration Board Job reference: 653668Location: 5000 - ADELAIDEJob status: Short Term ContractEligibility: Open to Everyone About the Teachers Registration Board: The Teachers Registration Board (the TRB) is established under the Teachers Registration and Standards Act 2004 (the Act) and the Teachers Registration and Standards Regulations 2021 to regulate the teaching profession. The object of the Act is, in the public interest, to maintain a teacher registration system and professional standards for teachers to ensure its members are competent, fit and proper to have the care of children. The TRB employs its own staff and is a public sector agency under the Public Sector Act 2009 . The South Australian Public Sector Salaried Employees Interim Award and the South Australian Public Sector Enterprise Agreement: Salaried 2021 governs the employment conditions of the Board. Role Description The Administration Officer – Registration and Authorisations role is newly created to provide high-level administrative support across five key areas: Teacher registration, renewal and compliance Mutual recognition Qualification assessments Special authorities to teach Admissions Sub-Committee meetings and Hearings This role is offered full time, at the ASO3 Level and for a short-term contract of 12 months - located in the heart of the Adelaide CBD. Role Summary The Administration Officer – Registration and Authorisations is accountable to the Manager, Registration for: The delivery of professional and high-level administrative functions, including first-tier problem-solving and document preparation in collaboration with Registration subject experts. Maintaining effective procedures to ensure the TRB meets whole-of-government and agency standards, legislative and best practice requirements. Contributing to the delivery and maintenance of efficient and professional work practices within the TRB. The delivery of various administrative tasks as assigned from time-to-time to meet the needs of the TRB and/or support the operations of the TRB. Selection Criteria Communication and Interpersonal Skills Demonstrated communication and interpersonal skills that result in effective and appropriate verbal and written communication with a range of people, including those from non-English speaking backgrounds. Experience in providing clear, concise and accurate information to clients face-to-face, in a friendly courteous manner and providing administrative support services in a demanding environment to facilitate timely provision of documents for determination and processing. Demonstrated strong experience in applying customer driven service excellence with competing duties. Ability to prepare pro-forma documentation under limited supervision. Ability to analyse, evaluate and apply information to support delivery of organisational outcomes (including registration, suspension and qualification assessments) and as required, support to Sub-Committee and Board meetings. Demonstrated ability to be self-motivated, flexible, reliable and enthusiastic and exercise confidence, sensitivity and discretion in handling confidential matters and difficult clients. Organisational Skills Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team harmoniously with limited supervision and effectively transfer knowledge to colleagues at all levels to achieve agreed objectives. Contributes to a culture of respect and high ethical standards. Technical Skills Proven ability to manage sensitive information/data with respect and confidentiality, while maintaining a high degree of accuracy. Proven ability to apply initiative and judgement to solve problems of a more complex nature and seek advice as required. Proven ability to work effectively prioritising volumes of work and completing tasks within agreed timeframes. Experience in the delivery of administrative services to internal and external customers. Experience with managing databases in a business environment.
