About the Role As an Aged Care Home & Community Assistant, you will provide personalised home care support to older Australians who reside on the Cassowary Coast , ranging from suburbs Tully to Babinda , to assist them in remaining living independently in their home. Travel will be required, with distances of up to 50 minutes to support clients across the region. This is a casual opportunity, with approximately 10 hours per week, building over time. Hours will be between 7am and 5pm, Monday to Friday, with no evening, weekend, or sleepover shifts. Flexible hours are available, and can be tailored to suit school hours or other commitments if required. Key Responsibilities Domestic assistance duties including light cleaning, changing of bed linen, and laundry. In-home supports inclusive of meal preparation and assistance with daily living. Social supports inclusive of support to attend medical appointments and social activities in the local community. Personal care inclusive of showering, daily hygiene, and monitoring of health and well-being. Skills & Experience Certificate III in Individual Support (Ageing, Disability or similar) or prior industry experience is highly regarded. Passion for making a positive impact in our ageing community. An Australian Driver’s Licence and ownership of a registered vehicle. Strong communication skills with the ability to build and maintain positive relationships. A current First Aid and CPR Certificate (must be obtained prior to employment). Successful candidates will be required to clear probity checks including but not limited to a National Criminal History Record Check.
