What you'll be doing: The successful applicant will work in a team environment that fosters positive working relationships. This position requires the incumbent to work weekdays & weekends (Wednesday to Sunday) and there is a possibility of job sharing. The Allied Health Assistant role supports the Allied Health (AH) team in delivering high-quality patient care at WSLHD. Under supervision, the position assists in therapy programs, documentation, and equipment maintenance. The role also entails: Support AH professionals in patient care, therapy programs, and education sessions. Accurately document and report patient progress while maintaining confidentiality. Plan workload with AH professionals to achieve patient-centered outcomes. Manage therapy equipment and assist with supply orders. Mentor Allied Health Assistant students during clinical placements. Essential Requirements: Qualifications - Certificate IV in Allied Health Assistance/relevant qualification or currently enrolled in training for a Certificate IV in AHA or relevant qualification. Selection Criteria: Certificate IV in Allied Health Assistance/relevant qualification or currently enrolled in training for a Certificate IV in AHA or relevant qualification. Demonstrated effective interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills with the ability to communicate across all levels with internal and external stakeholders. Demonstrated previous experience working in a health environment. Demonstrated ability to work as a contributing member of the allied health team. Demonstrated ability to prioritise workload delegated by supervising AHPs, meet deadlines and complete activities within scope of practice, seeking assistance as required. Demonstrated computer literacy skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office and email applications. Knowledge and understanding of Work Health and Safety legislation and principles and how it applies to the duties of the position. Demonstrated ability to work within a healthcare service or professional caregiving capacity, in a positive manner enhancing the client's ability to achieve positive outcomes and personal goals.
