About the Company: Our client is at the forefront of circular farming and operates one of the largest broiler chicken farming operations in Australia, producing 19.5 million each year. Their 100% sustainable organic waste-to-energy project will generate renewable energy, support the national electricity grid, create jobs, and reduce greenhouse gas emissions, placing Australia as a global leader in the waste-to-energy movement. With construction nearing completion, the time has come to launch full-scale operations, and we need a plant management expert to take the lead. About the Role: As Plant Manager , you will: Oversee the final construction phase and transition the plant into full operation. Lead the 24/7 operations of the Anaerobic Digestion (AD) plant and connected fertiliser facility. Ensure biological health, feedstock reception, gas production, and mechanical efficiency are optimised. Manage a team of up to 15 staff and specialist contractors. Maintain strict environmental compliance, safety, and operational efficiency. Drive innovation, optimise energy production, and work closely with laboratory teams. Direct impact on the future of agriculture and renewable energy Who We’re Looking For This is a senior, high-impact role, and we are looking for a biogas expert with a strong mechanical and leadership background. The ideal candidate will have: A minimum of 5 years’ experience operating and managing an Anaerobic Digestion Plant Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, agriculture / diary, microbiology, or a related field, or extensive vocational experience in a relevant industry Strong hands-on mechanical expertise and knowledge of biological health in digesters Experience managing a 24/7 plant operation Leadership experience managing teams (up to 15 staff) and external contractors A high level of analytical, numerical, and reasoning ability Strong knowledge of environmental compliance, safety standards, and process optimisation You’ll also need exceptional problem-solving skills, leadership, innovation, and adaptability to ensure the success of this world-leading project.
