JOB GOAL/PRIMARY PURPOSE: To enable children with disabilities to access their education. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Develop tools and work with staff to collect progress-monitoring data on behavioral goals. Conduct functional behavioral assessments associated with IEPs and write reports summarizing results. Assist in the development of positive behavior support plans utilizing evidence-based interventions and train other staff to write comprehensive behavior support plans. Supervise Behavioral Health Professionals in conjunction with Section 28 program requirements and documentation protocols. Assess students’ instructional needs and develop appropriate programming. Co-teach/model social skills and executive functioning instruction. Train staff on positive behavior support plans and instructional programs and monitor fidelity. Provide ongoing monitoring of student data and make programming adjustments as needed for the special education population. Consult with regular education, special education, and specialty services in the development of guidelines around the management of student behavior. Attend IEP meetings as needed for students with special needs. Continue to acquire professional knowledge and learn of current developments in the educational field by attending seminars, workshops, or professional meetings, conducting research, and maintaining professional relationships. Organize and maintain a system for accurate and complete record-keeping and provide student information to prospective colleges and employers, as required by district procedures and applicable laws. Encourage parental involvement in students' education and ensure effective communication with students and parents. Select and requisition appropriate books, aids, and other supplies and equipment, and maintain inventory records. QUALIFICATIONS: Masters Degree in relevant area (education, behavior analysis, psychology, speech and language). National certification (BACB). State of Maine Licensure. Hold a valid State of Maine Criminal History Records Check Approval. Excellent interpersonal and written communication skills. Experience with administration and supervision of Section 28 services.
