Job Description

Tandem Design Studio Job description: Collaborating with architects, clients, and consultants on a range of projects, attending team meetings, and contributing to problem-solving discussions. Proficient in interpreting architectural plans, building regulations, and industry codes of practice, ensuring all projects adhere to legal and safety standards. Collating and collecting site surveys, measurements and 3D scans to inform detailed documentation and design. Assisting in the development of design proposals for various projects, including new builds, adaptive reuse, refurbishments and joinery packages. Collaborating with consultants from various disciplines, including Landscape Architects, Engineers, and specialists, to detail and coordinate projects from concept to construction. Providing design insights informed by client objectives, regulatory requirements, and project constraints throughout all stages. Developing detailed documentation to assist in preparing cost estimates, including technical drawings, specifications, and schedules for FFE, furniture, windows, doors, signage, and ironmongery. Developing decanting and staging strategies that ensure worker safety, minimize disruptions, and maintain operational efficiency during construction. Preparing town planning and building permit applications, ensuring all required documentation, plans, and compliance with local regulations are accurately completed to secure necessary approvals. Software: Autodesk Revit AutoCAD Rhinoceros 3D Adobe Suite Microsoft Suite Task & Responsibilities: Be involved in project processes at all stages Be involved in multiple projects at once Concept Design work and Presentation work Preparation of documents for tender submissions, design competitions or similar presentations Preparation of schematic design and design development documentation Working as part of a documentation team – contributing towards construction drawings. Product, material and technology research Supervised working with clients, authorities and consultants General office duties related to each project General office organisation as part of group Qualification & Experience: Bachelors in Architecture degree 1 - 2 year experience in practice Ability to pick up CAD quickly and comfortable with 3D programmes Interest and understanding of global; Asian and European models of residential density and urban planning Methodical and systematic planning and execution General interest in standard building residential construction Interest in structures, materials and systems Design and lateral thinking skills 3D Model making skills Interpersonal skills Inter-office compatibility in team situations Self motivated, clear thinking and analytical Good presentation skills About Company About Our approach to architectural practice is summed up simply.
